Job Description
Kunai is looking for a Technical Product Manager to join its professional services team and drive the retirement, remediation, and migration of legacy applications across a large-scale payments modernisation programme. Now part of the PwC network, Kunai builds full-stack technology solutions for banks, credit and payment networks, infrastructure providers, and their customers, helping clients modernise, capitalise on emerging trends, and evolve their business for the decades ahead. This is a high-impact role for a technically grounded product leader who is ready to own a complex migration roadmap and keep a major payments platform moving toward a stable, well-managed end state.
In this role, you will own the roadmap for legacy application disposition across multiple workstreams, working closely with engineering teams to define technical requirements and sequence migration and remediation work. You will track application inventories and disposition status, flagging risks before they become blockers, and coordinate migrations to target infrastructure, managing timelines and dependencies between teams. Translating business and compliance requirements into clear, actionable technical work will be central to your responsibilities, as will running backlog grooming, sprint planning, and other agile delivery ceremonies. You will align stakeholders across business, technical, and compliance groups on priorities and trade-offs, report progress and risk to programme leadership with supporting data, and identify opportunities to simplify or accelerate the legacy retirement process.
The ideal candidate brings five or more years of experience as a Product Manager or Technical Product Manager, ideally on infrastructure, migration, or modernisation initiatives, with demonstrated experience managing application retirement, remediation, or platform migration efforts. You are comfortable working directly with engineering teams to shape technical scope and sequencing, familiar with payments systems or financial services technology environments, and experienced with agile delivery practices including backlog management and sprint ceremonies. Strong stakeholder management skills, familiarity with cloud infrastructure migrations ideally on AWS, and the ability to translate technical complexity clearly for non-technical audiences are all essential. A Bachelor's degree is required, or equivalent specialised experience in its place.
Kunai offers competitive compensation, professional development opportunities, and flexible remote work arrangements within a team that has spent over 20 years building technology that changes how the world relates to financial services.
