Job Description
Job Overview: As a Sous Chef at Home Bakery, you will play a critical leadership role in managing day-to-day kitchen operations. Working closely with the Head Chef, you will supervise staff, ensure food quality and consistency, and help drive the creative direction of our menu. This position requires both culinary expertise and strong management abilities.
Key Responsibilities: Your responsibilities include overseeing all kitchen sections, assisting with menu planning, and ensuring the highest standards of food quality and hygiene are maintained. You will also take charge of training junior chefs, monitoring kitchen performance, and addressing any operational challenges quickly and effectively.
Leadership Role: As the second-in-command in the kitchen, you will act as a mentor and leader to the entire culinary team. You will delegate tasks, provide guidance, and ensure smooth coordination across sections. Your leadership will be vital in creating a positive and productive work environment that drives results.
Quality & Creativity: Beyond managing operations, you will also contribute innovative ideas for seasonal menus, pastries, and signature dishes. Home Bakery thrives on creativity, and as Sous Chef, you will play an important role in balancing traditional favorites with new culinary concepts that delight our guests.
Operational Excellence: You will oversee inventory management, monitor food costs, and minimize wastage while ensuring efficient kitchen operations. Collaboration with suppliers, maintaining food safety compliance, and ensuring timely service during peak hours are core aspects of this role.
Customer Impact: The reputation of Home Bakery rests heavily on the quality and consistency of what we serve. Your leadership ensures that every dish leaving the kitchen exceeds expectations. In this role, you will directly influence the customer experience and help strengthen our brand reputation across new locations.
