Job Overview: We are looking for a highly skilled and detail-oriented Senior Cost Control Engineer to oversee budgeting, forecasting, and cost tracking activities for a major long-term construction project in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. This role requires advanced analytical abilities and extensive experience in cost engineering to help maintain financial efficiency across project lifecycles. The successful candidate will work closely with the project management team to provide accurate, real-time insights that support effective decision-making and cost control strategies.

Cost Management Duties: The primary responsibility of this role is to develop and manage detailed cost estimates, track budget performance, and report variances on all phases of construction. You will monitor procurement costs, labor and equipment expenses, material usage, and other financial metrics. A strong command of cost breakdown structures (CBS), change order tracking, and cost forecasting is essential for effective project control and minimizing unnecessary expenditure.

Reporting and Documentation: As a Senior Cost Control Engineer, you will prepare periodic cost reports, dashboards, and executive summaries that clearly reflect project performance against budget. These reports must be both analytical and visual, enabling quick understanding of cost trends and upcoming risks. Accuracy and timeliness are vital in all financial reports, as these documents will inform strategic decisions at the highest levels of the organization.

Collaboration with Stakeholders: You will act as a financial advisor to project and construction managers, offering insights on potential cost-saving measures without compromising quality or timelines. Your role will involve coordinating with procurement, planning, and site execution teams to collect data, validate cost impacts, and assess financial implications of proposed changes to the project scope or schedule.

Systems and Software: This role demands a high level of proficiency with industry-standard cost control tools such as Oracle ERP, SAP, Candy CCS, and advanced Excel. Experience with project management platforms and integration with scheduling tools like Primavera P6 will be highly beneficial. You must also be comfortable setting up project cost control systems and maintaining digital records to support audits and compliance reviews.

Risk and Change Management: Identifying financial risks and proactively implementing mitigation strategies is a core part of this role. You will be expected to evaluate change orders and their financial impacts, support contract administrators in budget negotiations, and maintain transparency in all financial operations. The ability to work under pressure and deliver actionable insights in tight timelines will set you apart.
