Role Overview – Al Thamam Electronics LLC is hiring a Cashier to serve as the first point of contact for customers in their retail outlets across the UAE on a full-time basis. This position is essential for providing excellent customer service, ensuring accurate billing transactions, and creating a smooth and pleasant shopping experience. The role is ideal for detail-oriented professionals who excel at customer interaction, cash handling, and maintaining efficiency in a fast-paced retail environment.
Billing and POS Operations – You will handle all billing transactions, manage cash and electronic payments, and operate point-of-sale (POS) systems efficiently and accurately. Your responsibilities include processing customer purchases, ensuring correct pricing, calculating and providing accurate change, issuing receipts, handling card payments, managing cash drawers, performing cash reconciliation at the end of shifts, and maintaining meticulous attention to detail to prevent billing errors and ensure financial accuracy.
Customer Interaction and Service – You will provide exceptional customer service by interacting with customers in a friendly, polite, and professional manner throughout their checkout experience. Your responsibilities include greeting customers warmly, addressing customer inquiries and questions, resolving minor complaints or concerns tactfully, providing information about promotions or store policies, and ensuring every customer leaves with a positive impression of Al Thamam Electronics LLC.
Team Collaboration – You will work closely with sales associates, store supervisors, and other retail staff to ensure smooth and efficient store operations. This includes coordinating with team members during busy periods, communicating customer feedback or issues to management, supporting colleagues when needed, and maintaining a positive, cooperative working environment that contributes to overall team success and store performance.
Experience Required – Previous experience as a cashier, in retail operations, or in customer-facing roles is preferred. You should be comfortable handling cash transactions, operating POS systems, and working in a retail environment. Candidates with experience in electronics retail or similar sectors will be given preference. The ability to start immediately is highly desirable.
Product and Store Knowledge – Basic knowledge of electronics products sold in the store is expected to assist customers effectively when needed. You should be able to provide general information about products, answer basic customer questions, direct customers to appropriate sales staff for detailed inquiries, and demonstrate familiarity with store layout, policies, return procedures, and promotional offers to enhance customer satisfaction and support sales efforts.
Workplace Efficiency and Organization Skills – Strong organizational abilities are essential for maintaining a clean, organized checkout area and adhering to all store policies and procedures. You must be efficient in managing queues during peak hours, capable of multitasking, following cash handling protocols strictly, supporting inventory counts when required, assisting with simple reporting tasks, and demonstrating reliability, punctuality, and a professional work ethic at all times.
