Student Emotional Support The School Counselor will play a vital role in supporting the emotional wellbeing of students across all school levels. This position focuses on helping students manage personal challenges, build emotional resilience, and develop positive coping strategies in a safe and supportive environment.
Academic Guidance The role involves guiding students in setting realistic academic goals and supporting them in overcoming learning-related challenges. The School Counselor will work closely with teaching staff to identify student needs and promote academic growth and confidence.
Social Development Support Supporting students’ social development is a key responsibility of this role. The School Counselor will help students build healthy relationships, develop communication skills, and navigate social situations with empathy and respect for others.
Career and Future Planning The position includes providing career guidance and future pathway counseling, especially for senior students preparing for higher education. The School Counselor will assist students in exploring interests, strengths, and long-term aspirations.
Collaboration and Safeguarding The School Counselor will collaborate closely with teachers, school leadership, and parents to ensure student wellbeing. This role contributes actively to safeguarding practices, child protection procedures, and the implementation of behavior and social-emotional learning initiatives.
Wellness Programs and Advocacy The role involves developing and leading student wellness programs, workshops, and awareness initiatives. The School Counselor will promote a positive school culture that prioritizes mental health, inclusion, and holistic student development.
