Job Description
Quantity Surveyor – Excellence in Cost Management and Construction Oversight: As a Quantity Surveyor, you will be responsible for managing all aspects of the contractual and financial side of construction projects. Your role will include cost estimation, budgeting, and financial planning to ensure that every project is delivered efficiently, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. You will work closely with project managers, engineers, and contractors to control costs and optimize project value.
Project Cost Estimation and Budgeting: You will prepare detailed cost estimates and budgets for new and ongoing projects. By analyzing architectural and engineering drawings, you will determine accurate material, labor, and equipment costs. Your ability to forecast potential financial risks and provide cost-effective solutions will help maintain the project’s profitability and success.
Tendering and Contract Administration: You will handle tender documentation, evaluate bids, and assist in awarding contracts. Your expertise will ensure that all tenders are transparent, competitive, and compliant with company policies. You will manage contractual terms, negotiate variations, and provide professional advice to protect the company’s commercial interests throughout all project phases.
Measurement and Valuation of Work: During construction, you will measure quantities of completed work to prepare interim valuations and final accounts. Your precision in quantifying and assessing the value of work performed will ensure accurate progress billing and fair compensation to contractors, maintaining financial accuracy and project transparency.
Risk Assessment and Financial Reporting: You will identify potential project risks—both financial and operational—and propose mitigation strategies. Regular financial reporting will be a key aspect of your responsibilities, keeping senior management informed of budget status, cost variations, and overall financial performance to support data-driven decisions.
Collaboration and Project Coordination: Working in collaboration with multidisciplinary teams, you will act as a bridge between the financial and technical aspects of construction. Your communication skills and professional judgment will ensure that all stakeholders—from site engineers to management—are aligned on financial objectives and cost implications of design or scope changes.
