Job Description
Medical Coding Responsibilities: As an OP Medical Coder, you will be responsible for accurately assigning standardized codes to medical diagnoses and procedures using ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS coding systems. Accuracy in coding is critical to ensure proper billing, compliance, and seamless revenue cycle management.
Insurance Coordination: The role includes managing insurance-related tasks such as claim submission, pre-authorization requests, eligibility verification, and follow-up with insurance providers. Your attention to detail will help minimize claim denials and maximize reimbursement.
Compliance & Accuracy: You will ensure coding compliance with AAPC/AHIMA guidelines and UAE healthcare regulations. Adhering to coding principles will help maintain audit readiness and safeguard the organization against regulatory risks.
Data & Documentation: The position requires reviewing patient records, clinical documents, and medical reports to assign appropriate codes. You will also maintain electronic records with precision, ensuring that all documentation supports the assigned codes.
Collaboration & Communication: The OP Medical Coder / Insurance Coordinator will work closely with physicians, billing staff, and insurance companies. Strong communication skills will be essential to clarify clinical details, resolve queries, and maintain smooth operations.
Technical Expertise: The role demands proficiency in Microsoft Excel for data tracking, reporting, and analysis. You will use Excel to create claim logs, track rejected claims, and maintain financial records for management review.
