Job Description
Intraoperative Monitoring Support – The Neurodiagnostic Technician will play a critical role in providing real-time intraoperative neurophysiological monitoring during complex surgical procedures. The technician will assist surgeons in preventing neurological damage by capturing detailed brain and nerve activity throughout the surgery, ensuring patient safety with a high level of accuracy.
Neurological Data Acquisition – This position requires exceptional skill in establishing, preparing, and adjusting monitoring equipment to record EEG, EMG, SSEP, BAEP, and other neurodiagnostic signals. The technician should demonstrate strong familiarity with neurophysiological protocols and ensure reliable, high-quality data capture during all phases of the operation.
Clinical Interpretation Assistance – The technician will assist physicians and neurologists by identifying abnormal signal patterns, reporting significant changes immediately, and documenting events throughout the procedure. A deep understanding of neurological responses, surgical positioning effects, and anesthetic influences is essential for success in this role.
Patient Preparation and Care – The technician will prepare patients before procedures by explaining monitoring steps, ensuring proper electrode placement, and maintaining patient comfort while upholding clinical safety standards. Strong communication, empathy, and attention to detail are crucial to creating a supportive environment for patients undergoing high-risk surgeries.
Surgical Team Collaboration – The technician will work closely with surgeons, anesthesiologists, neurologists, and OR staff, contributing to coordinated workflow during complex operations. This role requires strong teamwork, professional communication, and adaptability in fast-paced surgical settings where accuracy and responsiveness are vital.
Operational Accuracy and Protocol Compliance – The technician is expected to maintain the functionality of all neurodiagnostic equipment, follow strict documentation standards, and uphold quality assurance practices. Continuous monitoring, calibration, and adherence to international IONM protocols are required to ensure the highest level of patient safety.
