Job Description

Role Overview: As a Medical Records Officer at Al Abeer Medical Centre, you will be responsible for maintaining, organizing, and securing patient medical records in compliance with internal protocols and UAE health regulations. This role is pivotal in ensuring that patient information is readily accessible for healthcare professionals while maintaining strict confidentiality.

Daily Responsibilities: Your day-to-day tasks will include updating patient records, filing documents both digitally and physically, retrieving medical charts as requested by physicians, and auditing records to ensure accuracy and completeness. Attention to detail and proficiency in healthcare documentation systems are critical to success in this role.

Technical Documentation Handling: You will work closely with healthcare teams to manage electronic health records (EHR), scan and upload documents into hospital management systems, and tag them for quick retrieval. You must ensure all entries comply with standard medical terminology and classification systems.

Compliance and Security: The role demands adherence to HIPAA or local data protection laws, safeguarding sensitive patient data from unauthorized access. Regular internal audits, policy reviews, and training will be part of your responsibilities to ensure ongoing compliance.

Collaboration and Reporting: You will collaborate with doctors, nurses, and administrative staff to streamline medical record access, improve patient service delivery, and generate regular reports for hospital management or government authorities. Your inputs will contribute to the smooth operation of clinical services.

Skills and Tools: The ideal candidate must be skilled in medical coding, data entry, and using EHR software systems like Cerner, Epic, or similar. Strong command of MS Office tools and familiarity with UAE healthcare reporting standards is also necessary.
