Job Overview: As a Maintenance Foreman, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily upkeep and operational condition of our school premises. This includes managing both preventive and corrective maintenance tasks to ensure a safe, functional, and reliable environment for students, faculty, and visitors. The role requires a mix of technical expertise, leadership, and problem-solving skills to keep our facilities in optimal condition.
Facility Management: You will lead a small team of maintenance staff and coordinate their day-to-day activities. From planning schedules to ensuring timely repairs, your leadership will be crucial in maintaining smooth operations. This includes responding quickly to urgent issues and developing maintenance routines to prevent disruptions in the learning environment.
Repairs and Technical Work: The position involves hands-on repair work such as electrical troubleshooting, plumbing fixes, and AC servicing. Additionally, you will perform minor welding, carpentry, and other facility-related tasks. A strong technical background and ability to handle multiple repair disciplines are essential for success in this role.
Safety and Compliance: A key part of the role is ensuring compliance with safety regulations. You will be responsible for inspecting equipment and facilities to identify hazards, implementing corrective measures, and ensuring that all safety standards are strictly followed. This will create a secure and reliable environment for staff and students alike.
Coordination and Team Support: You will work closely with support staff and other departments to address facility-related needs. Clear communication and teamwork are vital, as you will be coordinating with cleaners, security staff, and administration to make sure the school functions smoothly. This requires flexibility, patience, and proactive planning.
Reporting and Documentation: The role involves maintaining detailed logs of maintenance activities, reporting hazards, and tracking expenses related to facility upkeep. Proper documentation ensures transparency and supports decision-making for future facility improvements. This also helps in resource allocation and cost management.
