Job Description
Role Overview – The Deep Seafood Company is hiring Junior Accountants for their Abu Dhabi branch. This position is ideal for enthusiastic, detail-oriented accounting professionals with foundational accounting experience who are eager to grow within a dynamic and expanding food and beverage organization. The role offers the opportunity to support financial operations, manage day-to-day accounting tasks, and contribute to the financial health of a growing company.
Accounts Payable and Receivable – You will manage accounts payable and receivable by processing supplier invoices, verifying payment accuracy, tracking customer payments, following up on outstanding receivables, and ensuring timely settlement of all financial transactions in line with company policies.
General Ledger and Journal Entries – You will maintain the general ledger by posting journal entries, recording financial transactions, reconciling accounts, and ensuring all entries are accurate, complete, and compliant with accounting standards and internal controls.
Bank Reconciliation – You will perform regular bank reconciliations by matching bank statements with company records, identifying discrepancies, investigating variances, and ensuring all cash transactions are properly recorded and balanced.
Invoice Processing and Documentation – You will process invoices and manage supporting documentation by verifying invoice details, obtaining necessary approvals, maintaining organized filing systems, and ensuring all financial documents are readily available for audits and reporting.
Financial Reporting Support – You will support financial reporting by preparing schedules, compiling data for monthly and annual reports, assisting with variance analysis, and providing accurate information to senior accountants and management for decision-making purposes.
Expense Management and Petty Cash – You will manage expense tracking and petty cash by recording expenses, reconciling petty cash accounts, reviewing reimbursement requests, and ensuring proper documentation and approval of all expenditures.
VAT and Tax Compliance Support – You will assist with VAT and tax compliance by maintaining VAT records, preparing supporting documentation for tax filings, ensuring invoices comply with UAE VAT regulations, and supporting the accounting team during tax audits or submissions.
Coordination with Internal Teams – You will coordinate with internal departments including procurement, sales, and operations by providing financial information, clarifying account details, and supporting cross-functional collaboration to ensure smooth financial workflows.
Software and Systems Management – You will use accounting software and ERP systems to record transactions, generate reports, and maintain financial data, ensuring all systems are updated accurately and efficiently.
