Job Description
Role Overview: We are looking for a highly skilled IT Service Desk Engineer to join our client's IT operations team in Dubai on an onsite contract basis. This is a 6+ month extendable role with a reputable organization, offering exposure to high-demand enterprise IT infrastructure and geoscience applications.
Technical Support & System Administration: You will be responsible for providing tier-1 and tier-2 technical support, covering system administration, desktop support, user management, and application troubleshooting. Your role will ensure a high level of end-user satisfaction across diverse departments, including engineering and geoscience.
Windows OS & Device Management: You must have advanced knowledge of Windows operating systems, along with proven experience in operating system deployment and upgrades (e.g., Windows XP to 7, 7 to 10). You will also manage laptop/desktop imaging and the setup of new machines.
Applications & User Support: You’ll support a wide range of business applications, including Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe, and AutoCAD. Proficiency in configuring and troubleshooting Outlook, DNS, Group Policy, and proxy servers is essential.
Infrastructure & Tools: You’ll work with Active Directory, SCCM, VPNs, and multifactor authentication solutions, handling account creation, device configuration, email setup, printer troubleshooting, and more. Experience with domain controllers, DNS settings, and reserved IP configurations is expected.
Customer Service & Communication: A proactive service mindset and excellent communication skills in English are critical. You must consistently follow up on all tickets and problems until resolution, ensuring users are supported professionally and empathetically.
Asset & Inventory Management: You will help maintain IT hardware/software inventory, track equipment allocation, and contribute to the build process of new machines. Familiarity with managing updates, drivers, and patching is a plus.
