Job Description
Role Overview: Infrastructure Site Engineer – This position requires a dedicated professional to oversee and manage site-level operations on diverse infrastructure projects, including roads, utilities, and stormwater systems. The role involves ensuring that construction activities adhere to design specifications, quality standards, and safety protocols while coordinating closely with project managers and contractors.
Project Coordination: The engineer will be responsible for coordinating all on-site activities, including scheduling subcontractors, supervising daily operations, and monitoring progress against project milestones. This role requires a proactive approach to problem-solving and quick decision-making in dynamic construction environments to maintain smooth project execution.
Technical Responsibilities: Manage, inspect, and verify infrastructure installations such as water supply systems, sewage networks, electrical utilities, and road layouts. Ensure all engineering work meets local codes, industry standards, and contractual requirements, providing technical guidance to on-site teams.
Quality Assurance: Implement and monitor quality control processes, conduct inspections, and prepare reports to document compliance with specifications. Ensure materials, workmanship, and construction methods meet stringent standards, reducing rework and ensuring cost-efficiency.
Safety & Compliance: Enforce safety protocols on-site, ensuring all personnel comply with occupational health and safety regulations. Conduct risk assessments, site audits, and ensure prompt resolution of safety hazards to maintain a secure work environment for all staff.
Team Collaboration & Reporting: Work closely with project managers, consultants, and clients, maintaining clear communication and reporting progress regularly. Mentor junior engineers and site staff, fostering a collaborative environment that encourages knowledge sharing and continuous improvement.
