Job Description
Role Overview: As an EYFS Teacher at Al Jazeera Academy, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the first stage of a child’s educational journey. This role focuses on creating a safe, stimulating, and nurturing environment for children aged 3–5 years, laying the foundation for their social, emotional, physical, and cognitive development. You will be responsible for developing engaging learning activities that spark curiosity and a lifelong love for learning.
Key Responsibilities: Your core duties will include planning and delivering age-appropriate lessons based on the Early Years Foundation Stage framework. You will observe and record each child’s progress, identifying areas for improvement and tailoring activities to meet individual learning needs. Encouraging play-based learning, promoting social interaction, and fostering independence will be at the heart of your teaching approach.
Child-Centered Learning: You will design activities that balance structured learning with creative exploration, ensuring children develop key early literacy and numeracy skills alongside physical coordination and emotional awareness. Emphasis will be placed on hands-on experiences, storytelling, outdoor play, and sensory-based activities that support holistic child development.
Environment & Wellbeing: Maintaining a safe, clean, and welcoming classroom environment will be a top priority. You will ensure that learning spaces are vibrant, inclusive, and supportive of diverse backgrounds. Beyond academics, your role will include guiding children in developing healthy routines, positive behavior, and respect for others.
Collaboration with Parents & Staff: Working closely with parents, caregivers, and fellow staff members will be crucial to a child’s success. You will provide regular updates on progress, address concerns, and encourage parental involvement in school activities. Collaborating with teaching assistants, SEN specialists, and the wider school team will help ensure every child’s needs are met effectively.
Professional Development: As part of Al Jazeera Academy, you will have access to continuous professional training and development. You are expected to stay updated with current educational practices in early years teaching, participate in staff workshops, and contribute ideas to enhance the school’s EYFS program.
