Job Description
Position Overview: The Demi Chef de Partie will play a crucial role in the kitchen team, supporting senior chefs while ensuring all dishes are prepared to the highest standards. The candidate must demonstrate strong culinary skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently under pressure in a high-volume, 4 or 5-star hotel environment.
Role Objective: This role aims to assist in the preparation and presentation of a wide variety of menu items while maintaining hygiene, food safety standards, and consistency across all dishes. The Demi Chef de Partie contributes creatively to menus while following the direction of the Sous Chef and Executive Chef.
Key Responsibilities: The candidate will prepare, cook, and present dishes according to the hotel’s quality standards, manage their section efficiently, maintain proper stock levels, and ensure all equipment is used and stored correctly. The role also involves assisting with inventory control and monitoring food wastage.
Required Competencies: To succeed in this role, the Demi Chef de Partie must possess strong culinary knowledge, creativity, teamwork, excellent time management, adaptability, and the ability to follow detailed recipes while maintaining consistent quality. Multitasking and effective communication with kitchen staff are essential.
