Job Description
Material Handling Coordination The Material Handling Clerk will be responsible for supporting the marine operations team by ensuring all materials, tools, and supplies are properly tracked, handled, and distributed across project sites. This role demands accuracy, attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently within a fast-paced shipyard or offshore environment.
Inventory and Documentation Management You will oversee material records, update inventory databases, and ensure that every material movement is documented according to company procedures. The position requires maintaining proper labeling, stock levels, and records to support seamless operations. The ideal candidate will help reduce material shortages and improve stock accuracy.
Warehouse Operations and Organization The role involves monitoring warehouse activities, coordinating with logistics teams, and maintaining cleanliness and order in storage areas. You will assist in the loading and unloading of materials, verify shipments, and ensure materials are stored in compliance with safety standards and project requirements.
Procurement and Supply Coordination The Clerk will liaise with the procurement team to ensure timely availability of materials required for ongoing projects. You’ll prepare requisitions, follow up with suppliers, and ensure that materials meet the specifications required for marine and industrial operations.
Health, Safety, and Compliance As part of a marine industry setting, strict adherence to health, safety, and environmental regulations is essential. You will be expected to follow safety protocols during material movement, maintain a safe working area, and immediately report any potential hazards or incidents to the safety officer or supervisor.
Team Support and Communication The Material Handling Clerk will work closely with project engineers, supervisors, and the logistics department to ensure materials are efficiently allocated to job sites. Strong communication skills and a cooperative attitude are key to ensuring timely task completion and supporting the team’s overall productivity.
