Job Description
Role Overview:
Levity is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Chief Accountant to oversee core accounting activities and support accurate financial management across the organization. The role involves managing financial records, overseeing accounting operations, preparing reports, supporting month-end and year-end closing, and ensuring financial information is maintained accurately and on time. The ideal candidate should have strong accounting knowledge, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to manage financial responsibilities with a high level of accuracy and confidentiality.
Accounting Operations:
- Oversee day-to-day accounting activities and ensure transactions are recorded accurately.
- Review accounting entries, supporting documents, and financial records.
- Maintain organized and complete accounting documentation.
- Ensure accounting processes are completed within required timelines.
Financial Reporting:
- Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
- Analyze financial information and provide relevant updates to management.
- Ensure financial statements and supporting schedules are accurate and properly maintained.
- Assist management with financial information required for business planning.
General Ledger Management:
- Oversee General Ledger activities and account reconciliations.
- Review journal entries and ensure appropriate supporting documentation is maintained.
- Monitor account balances and investigate unusual or incorrect entries.
- Maintain accurate records for all major accounting accounts.
Accounts Payable & Receivable:
- Supervise Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable activities.
- Monitor supplier invoices, payments, customer balances, and outstanding receivables.
- Ensure transactions are properly recorded and reconciled.
- Follow up on outstanding balances and discrepancies when required.
Month-End & Year-End Closing:
- Coordinate month-end and year-end closing activities.
- Prepare reconciliations and supporting schedules for closing procedures.
- Review outstanding accounting issues and ensure timely resolution.
- Coordinate required information with relevant internal teams.
Budgeting & Financial Analysis:
- Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning activities.
- Analyze expenses, revenues, and financial trends.
- Identify significant variances and provide explanations to management.
- Assist in developing accurate financial reports for decision-making.
Audit & Compliance Support:
- Coordinate with internal and external auditors when required.
- Prepare financial records and supporting documentation for audits.
- Maintain accounting records in accordance with applicable policies and procedures.
- Support compliance-related accounting requirements and ensure documentation is properly maintained.
Internal Controls:
- Monitor accounting processes and help maintain effective financial controls.
- Identify discrepancies, process gaps, and potential accounting risks.
- Recommend improvements to accounting procedures where appropriate.
- Ensure financial information is handled with confidentiality and accuracy.
Team Coordination:
- Guide and coordinate accounting team members in daily financial activities.
- Review accounting work and provide support on complex accounting matters.
- Coordinate with management and other departments regarding financial requirements.
- Promote accurate, organized, and timely completion of accounting tasks.
