Job Description

Role Overview – United Medical Industries Limited Co L.L.C is hiring an Accountant for a full-time, on-site role based in Dubai, UAE. This position is ideal for detail-oriented accounting professionals with strong technical accounting skills, analytical abilities, and experience managing financial transactions, reporting, and compliance within a corporate or industrial environment.

General Ledger and Financial Transactions – You will manage the general ledger by recording and posting financial transactions, maintaining chart of accounts, preparing journal entries, reconciling accounts, and ensuring all financial data is accurate, complete, and compliant with accounting standards.

Accounts Payable and Receivable – You will manage accounts payable and receivable by processing supplier invoices, verifying payment accuracy, tracking customer payments, following up on outstanding receivables, managing aging reports, and ensuring timely settlement of all financial obligations.

Bank Reconciliation and Cash Management – You will perform regular bank reconciliations by matching bank statements with company records, investigating discrepancies, resolving variances, and ensuring accurate tracking of cash flow and bank transactions across all company accounts.

Financial Reporting and Analysis – You will prepare financial reports including monthly, quarterly, and annual statements by consolidating financial data, analyzing variances, providing insights on financial performance, and supporting management with accurate and timely information for decision-making.

Month-End and Year-End Close – You will manage month-end and year-end closing processes by ensuring all transactions are recorded, preparing accruals and adjustments, reconciling balance sheet accounts, and meeting reporting deadlines in accordance with company financial calendars.

VAT and Tax Compliance – You will handle VAT and tax compliance by maintaining VAT records, preparing VAT returns, ensuring invoices comply with UAE VAT regulations, coordinating with tax consultants, and supporting the company during tax audits or government inspections.

Budgeting and Cost Control Support – You will support budgeting and cost control initiatives by monitoring departmental expenses, comparing actual performance against budgets, identifying variances, and providing analysis to support cost management and financial planning activities.

Audit Coordination and Compliance – You will coordinate with internal and external auditors by preparing required documentation, responding to audit queries, facilitating audit processes, and implementing recommendations to strengthen internal controls and financial reporting accuracy.

Expense Management and Reimbursements – You will manage expense tracking and employee reimbursements by reviewing expense reports, verifying supporting documentation, ensuring proper approvals, processing reimbursements, and maintaining accurate records of all company expenditures.

ERP and Accounting Software Management – You will use ERP and accounting software systems to record transactions, generate financial reports, maintain financial data, and ensure all systems are updated accurately and efficiently to support financial operations and reporting.

Cross-Functional Coordination – You will coordinate with internal departments including procurement, sales, operations, and finance by providing financial information, clarifying account details, supporting cross-functional collaboration, and ensuring alignment between financial activities and business operations.

Accounting Experience – Proven experience as an Accountant or in a similar accounting role is required. Your background should demonstrate strong technical accounting knowledge, hands-on experience with financial transactions and reporting, and the ability to work in a structured accounting environment.

UAE Experience (Preferred) – Experience working in the UAE, particularly with knowledge of UAE VAT regulations, local accounting practices, and compliance requirements, is preferred and will strengthen your candidacy.

Technical Accounting Knowledge – Strong understanding of accounting principles including double-entry bookkeeping, general ledger management, accounts payable and receivable, bank reconciliation, and financial statement preparation is essential.

VAT and Tax Knowledge – Working knowledge of UAE VAT regulations, tax compliance, and VAT return preparation is highly valued. Experience managing VAT-related transactions and documentation is a strong advantage.

ERP and Accounting Software Proficiency – Proficiency with ERP systems and accounting software (such as SAP, Oracle, Tally, QuickBooks, or similar platforms) is required. Strong Excel skills for financial analysis and reporting are essential.

Attention to Detail and Accuracy – Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy are critical for processing financial transactions, maintaining records, reconciling accounts, and ensuring error-free reporting and compliance with accounting standards.

Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills – Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities are required for investigating discrepancies, conducting variance analysis, identifying financial issues, and providing actionable insights to management.

Communication and Coordination Skills – Good communication and coordination skills are essential for liaising with vendors, internal teams, external auditors, and tax authorities, and for presenting financial information clearly and professionally.

Manufacturing/Industrial Experience (Preferred) – Experience in the manufacturing, pharmaceutical, or industrial sector is a plus. Familiarity with inventory accounting, cost of goods sold (COGS), and production-related financial management will be advantageous.
