Role Overview – Al Nasr Contracting is seeking experienced survey professionals to join our team for ongoing infrastructure projects (utilities and roads) in Dubai, UAE. We have openings for Surveyor Assistant (2 positions) . These positions are ideal for surveying professionals with infrastructure project experience who can support our utilities and roads construction activities.

Survey Support Operations – You will assist surveyors with survey operations by carrying equipment, setting up instruments, holding ranging rods and prisms, marking survey points, taking basic measurements under supervision, recording field data, maintaining survey equipment, and providing general support that enables efficient survey execution.

Field Measurements Assistance – You will assist with field measurements including holding survey rods, positioning prisms for Total Station measurements, placing GPS receivers, measuring distances with tape measures, marking points on site, taking spot levels, recording readings as directed, and supporting accurate data collection activities.

Survey Instrument Support – You will demonstrate basic knowledge of survey instruments including understanding how Total Stations, GPS receivers, and levels operate, assisting with instrument setup and teardown, carrying and transporting equipment safely, ensuring instruments are protected from damage, and supporting surveyor with instrument operations.

Site Coordination Support – You will support site coordination activities by communicating with construction workers about survey activities, coordinating access to survey locations, ensuring survey areas are safe and accessible, managing traffic control when needed, clearing vegetation or obstructions for survey lines, and facilitating smooth survey operations on active construction sites.

Data Collection Assistance – You will assist with data collection by recording measurements in field books or data collectors, photographing survey points and site conditions, sketching site features, noting relevant site observations, organizing field data, and ensuring complete and accurate field documentation under surveyor guidance.

Equipment Care and Maintenance – You will care for survey equipment by cleaning instruments after use, storing equipment properly in cases, charging batteries, checking equipment condition, reporting damaged or malfunctioning equipment, assisting with equipment inventory, and ensuring survey tools remain in good working condition.

Survey Marking and Staking – You will assist with survey marking by placing stakes, spray painting marks, installing flagging, creating temporary benchmarks, marking offset points, labeling survey markers clearly, and ensuring survey points are visible and identifiable for construction crews.

Safety and Site Awareness – You will maintain safety awareness on construction sites, wear required PPE at all times, follow site safety rules, stay alert to site hazards including moving equipment and vehicles, communicate safety concerns, work safely around excavations and utilities, and support safe survey operations.

Learning and Skill Development – You will actively learn surveying techniques and practices, observe surveyor methods, ask questions to improve understanding, study survey principles, develop instrument operation skills, progress toward independent surveying capabilities, and build professional surveying competency through on-the-job experience.

Physical Demands – You will handle physical demands of survey work including walking long distances on construction sites, carrying survey equipment, working in various weather conditions including Dubai heat, standing for extended periods, working on uneven terrain, climbing slopes or embankments, and maintaining stamina for demanding fieldwork.
