Job Description
Welding Procedure Development ✦ The Senior Welding Engineer will be responsible for developing, preparing, and qualifying welding procedures (WPS), creating weld plans, and ensuring all welding activities meet project specifications, technological requirements, and industry codes for EPC and Oil & Gas projects.
Metallurgical Support ✦ This role involves providing metallurgical and welding guidance to engineering teams to ensure materials selection, fabrication methods, and welding techniques comply with contractual obligations and advanced technological standards.
Inspection & Surveillance ✦ The engineer will conduct welding inspections and surveillance during site construction, fabrication, and assembly of pressure vessels, heat exchangers, piping, skids, and other structural components, ensuring compliance with quality standards.
Testing & Qualification ✦ Responsibilities include witnessing mechanical tests, qualifying materials and welding procedures, monitoring PQR and WPS adherence, and ensuring that all welding operations are verified for safety and quality in line with project requirements.
Contractor Oversight ✦ The Senior Welding Engineer will monitor contractors’ and subcontractors’ welding activities, ensuring they follow approved procedures, meet quality standards, and adhere to project timelines while reporting any deviations or corrective actions needed.
Standards & Compliance ✦ The position requires in-depth knowledge of welding codes, ASNT Level II testing (RT, UT, MT, PT), and professional welding certifications (IWE), ensuring that all welding activities comply with company and industry regulations.
