Job Description
Welding Engineering Support – The Senior Welding Engineer will provide comprehensive metallurgical and welding engineering support to multidisciplinary engineering teams. The role ensures that all welding activities align with contractual obligations, applicable codes, and evolving technological standards within complex industrial projects.
Procedure Qualification Management – This position is responsible for qualifying welding procedures through preparation and review of procedure qualification records and welding procedure specifications. The engineer will also develop and maintain weld plans that comply with project specifications and international welding codes.
Inspection and Expediting Activities – The role involves performing detailed welding inspections and expediting activities for pressure vessels, heat exchangers, skids, piping systems, structural fabrication, and general construction components to ensure quality and compliance.
Mechanical Testing Oversight – The Senior Welding Engineer will examine and witness mechanical testing required for material and weld qualification. This responsibility ensures that all materials and welds meet specified mechanical and metallurgical requirements before approval.
Site Surveillance and Quality Assurance – The position includes continuous surveillance inspections during fabrication, site construction, and welding activities. The engineer ensures adherence to approved procedures while identifying and addressing non-conformities promptly.
Contractor Compliance Monitoring – The role requires monitoring contractors and subcontractors to ensure welding activities comply with established quality standards, project specifications, and safety requirements throughout all project phases.
