Procurement Leadership: As a Senior Buyer, you will take the lead in managing procurement for fresh fruits and vegetables sourced from across the globe. This role involves handling a procurement budget exceeding AED 50Mn, ensuring all purchasing activities are conducted efficiently and strategically. You will be responsible for planning sourcing operations that align with business goals while maintaining high-quality standards.

Supplier Management: Your role will require you to build and maintain strong relationships with international suppliers. By leveraging your negotiation skills, you will secure favorable terms, competitive pricing, and reliable supply chains. This includes assessing supplier performance regularly and ensuring contracts meet the company’s long-term objectives.

Global Sourcing & Logistics: A major part of your responsibilities will be coordinating global sourcing of produce and overseeing international logistics. You will manage reefer container shipments, ensuring timely deliveries, and proactively addressing logistical challenges. Knowledge of sea freight processes is essential, with added advantage if you bring experience in air imports.

Quality & Compliance: Ensuring the highest quality of fresh produce will be at the heart of your job. You will work closely with the quality assurance team to verify product standards, monitor freshness, and manage compliance with international trade regulations. An understanding of seasonal variations will help in optimizing sourcing strategies.

Budget & Cost Management: With a large procurement budget, you will be tasked with financial oversight, ensuring cost efficiency without compromising quality. You will regularly prepare reports, analyze procurement trends, and provide insights to optimize spending. Your ability to forecast demand and budget effectively will be crucial in sustaining business growth.

Cross-Functional Collaboration: The role requires you to collaborate with internal teams including logistics, operations, and sales. By coordinating with different departments, you will ensure alignment between procurement goals and overall company objectives. Effective communication and teamwork will help streamline processes and drive organizational efficiency.
