Role Overview: The Procurement Engineer – Mechanical will handle the end-to-end sourcing and procurement of mechanical materials and equipment used in construction and infrastructure projects. The role requires strong technical knowledge of HVAC, piping, and mechanical systems to ensure high-quality materials are procured efficiently and in compliance with project specifications.

Key Responsibilities: The Engineer will identify qualified mechanical suppliers, solicit quotations, and evaluate offers based on technical and commercial criteria. They will manage supplier communications, negotiate terms, and ensure materials are delivered within schedule and budget constraints. Collaboration with the project and engineering departments is central to ensuring smooth operations.

Procurement Strategy: This position requires developing sourcing strategies, monitoring vendor performance, and implementing cost-effective solutions. The Engineer will stay updated on market conditions and technological advancements in mechanical materials to recommend innovative procurement solutions that enhance efficiency and cost savings.

Technical Expertise: The candidate must demonstrate technical proficiency in evaluating mechanical drawings, specifications, and product data sheets. Expertise in handling procurement for HVAC systems, pumps, valves, and piping materials is essential. Familiarity with Oracle ERP and Microsoft Office tools is also mandatory for daily operations.

Collaboration and Coordination: The Procurement Engineer will coordinate with cross-functional teams, ensuring all mechanical procurement requirements are aligned with project schedules. This includes regular progress updates, vendor performance reviews, and maintaining communication across project stakeholders to prevent material delays.

Compliance and Documentation: The role involves maintaining accurate procurement records, ensuring compliance with organizational policies, and supporting internal audits.
