Role Overview – KIMSHEALTH Medical Centre, Dubai is hiring a Medical Coder for a full-time position. This role is ideal for detail-oriented, organized, and professional medical coding specialists who can support our healthcare team with accuracy and efficiency by translating medical diagnoses, procedures, and services into standardized codes for billing and documentation purposes.

Medical Coding – You will translate medical diagnoses, procedures, treatments, and services into standardized codes using ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS coding systems. Your coding accuracy ensures proper billing, insurance reimbursement, regulatory compliance, and accurate medical record documentation that supports healthcare delivery and financial operations.

Medical Record Review – You will review patient medical records, physician documentation, diagnostic reports, procedure notes, and clinical information to identify billable services and assign appropriate codes. Thorough record review ensures all services are captured and coded correctly for comprehensive billing.

Code Assignment and Validation – You will assign accurate diagnosis and procedure codes based on clinical documentation, following coding guidelines, ensuring specificity, validating code combinations, and maintaining high coding accuracy that supports clean claims submission and optimal reimbursement.

Documentation Query and Clarification – You will identify incomplete or unclear documentation and query physicians or clinical staff for clarification to ensure coding accuracy. Effective communication with clinical teams improves documentation quality and coding precision.

Compliance and Guidelines Adherence – You will ensure compliance with coding guidelines, healthcare regulations, insurance requirements, and internal policies. Your adherence to standards protects the medical centre from audit risks, claim denials, and regulatory issues while maintaining coding integrity.

Billing Support – You will support billing processes by providing accurate codes that enable proper claim generation, working with billing teams to resolve coding-related issues, addressing claim rejections or denials related to coding, and ensuring revenue cycle efficiency.

Quality Assurance – You will maintain coding quality through regular self-audits, participating in quality reviews, staying updated on coding changes, and implementing feedback to continuously improve coding accuracy and performance.

Medical Terminology Knowledge – You will apply strong knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, disease processes, surgical procedures, and clinical documentation to understand medical records and assign appropriate codes accurately.

Medical Coding Certification – Medical coding certification such as CPC (Certified Professional Coder), CCS (Certified Coding Specialist), or equivalent is preferred. Certification demonstrates validated expertise in medical coding standards and best practices.

Coding System Proficiency – Proficiency in ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS coding systems is essential. You must be skilled at navigating code books or software, understanding coding conventions, applying guidelines correctly, and staying current with coding updates.
