Role Overview: This position is ideal for civil engineering graduates who are starting their career in construction and infrastructure projects. The Junior Quantity Surveyor will assist senior surveyors in managing project costs, preparing estimates, and ensuring that all materials and resources are accurately quantified to maintain project budgets and schedules.

Position Purpose: The Junior Quantity Surveyor will support the project team in tracking and controlling costs, preparing bills of quantities, and analyzing material requirements. The role emphasizes accuracy, attention to detail, and the ability to learn and adapt quickly to the dynamic construction environment.

Cost Estimation Support: The candidate will assist in preparing preliminary cost estimates, reviewing design drawings, and verifying quantities of materials. This includes supporting the senior QS team in evaluating subcontractor and supplier quotations, ensuring accurate financial planning and cost management for projects.

Documentation and Reporting: The role involves maintaining precise records of all quantities, costs, and project-related documentation. The candidate will prepare regular reports on material usage, project expenditure, and resource allocation to support efficient decision-making and project monitoring.

Software and Technical Skills: Proficiency in MS Excel is essential, and familiarity with QS software will be considered a valuable advantage. The candidate will learn to utilize software tools to manage cost databases, perform quantity calculations, and generate accurate reports to assist project management teams.

Team Collaboration: The Junior Quantity Surveyor will work closely with engineers, project managers, and senior quantity surveyors to ensure timely completion of deliverables. The role requires clear communication, proactive coordination, and the ability to contribute effectively to a collaborative project environment.
