Job Description
Daily Accounting Operations: As a Junior Accountant at Worood Group, you will play a vital role in maintaining accurate and up-to-date financial records. You will be responsible for recording daily accounting entries, monitoring cash flow, and ensuring that all financial transactions are properly documented in compliance with internal accounting standards. Your attention to detail will be crucial in maintaining the integrity of the company’s financial data.
Reconciliation and Verification: You will assist in reconciling bank statements, supplier accounts, and customer ledgers on a regular basis. This position requires a systematic approach to verifying the accuracy of data entries and identifying discrepancies early. You’ll be working closely with senior accountants to ensure smooth month-end closing and financial reporting processes.
Stock and Inventory Management: The Junior Accountant will be actively involved in stock monitoring, valuation, and reporting. You’ll coordinate with the warehouse and procurement departments to reconcile stock records with accounting data, ensuring that physical counts align with system reports. This function helps maintain cost control and supports business efficiency across all operations.
Financial Reporting Assistance: You will support the preparation of management reports, including profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and financial summaries. Working under the supervision of senior finance professionals, you’ll gain valuable experience in analyzing financial trends and assisting in the preparation of reports for management decision-making.
Month-End and Year-End Support: The role includes assisting with closing activities, including accruals, adjustments, and reconciliations during monthly and annual financial closing. You will collaborate with auditors and contribute to the timely submission of reports, ensuring compliance with company policies and accounting standards. This role offers a great opportunity to learn core accounting procedures in a professional environment.
Software and Systems Management: The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge of ERP systems and accounting software, along with proficiency in Microsoft Excel. You will help manage financial data using digital tools to ensure accuracy and consistency. A solid understanding of spreadsheet formulas and data analysis will help streamline daily accounting functions.
