Role Overview – Sheikh Khalifa Hospital, Fujairah is hiring a Chief Medical Officer. This senior leadership position is ideal for an experienced healthcare professional with strong clinical leadership, governance, and strategic management expertise who can join our leadership team and provide executive oversight of medical services, quality, and clinical operations.
Clinical Leadership – You will provide clinical leadership across the hospital by setting clinical standards, establishing best practices, guiding medical staff, promoting evidence-based medicine, ensuring clinical excellence, and creating a culture of quality, safety, and continuous improvement in patient care delivery.
Medical Governance – You will oversee medical governance by establishing clinical governance frameworks, ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations, implementing quality assurance programs, managing clinical risk, monitoring clinical outcomes, and maintaining high standards of medical practice across all departments.
Strategic Management – You will contribute to strategic management by participating in hospital strategic planning, aligning medical services with organizational goals, identifying opportunities for service development, supporting growth initiatives, and ensuring clinical strategy supports the hospital's mission and vision.
Quality and Patient Safety – You will champion quality and patient safety by implementing quality improvement initiatives, monitoring patient safety metrics, investigating adverse events, implementing preventive measures, promoting safety culture, and ensuring the hospital delivers safe, high-quality patient care.
Medical Staff Management – You will manage medical staff by overseeing physician recruitment and credentialing, evaluating clinical competence, providing medical leadership development, addressing performance issues, promoting professional development, and ensuring the medical team maintains high professional standards.
Clinical Performance Monitoring – You will monitor clinical performance by tracking quality indicators, analyzing clinical outcomes, benchmarking against standards, identifying improvement opportunities, and implementing interventions that enhance clinical effectiveness and patient outcomes.
Regulatory Compliance – You will ensure regulatory compliance with MOH (Ministry of Health), DHA, or other relevant healthcare regulatory requirements, maintaining accreditation standards, implementing policies that meet regulatory obligations, and ensuring the hospital operates within legal and professional frameworks.
Interdepartmental Coordination – You will coordinate with nursing leadership, hospital administration, department heads, and other stakeholders to ensure integrated care delivery, aligned operations, effective communication, and collaborative approaches to patient care and hospital management.
Clinical Leadership Experience – Extensive clinical leadership experience in senior medical leadership roles such as Chief Medical Officer, Medical Director, or similar positions is required. Your leadership background demonstrates ability to guide medical services, manage physician teams, and drive clinical excellence.
Clinical Governance Expertise – Strong clinical governance expertise is essential. You should have proven experience implementing governance frameworks, managing clinical quality, ensuring regulatory compliance, and maintaining high standards of medical practice in healthcare organizations.
Strategic Management Skills – Strategic management expertise enables you to contribute to organizational planning, align clinical services with business objectives, identify growth opportunities, and make strategic decisions that support sustainable hospital development.
Medical Qualifications – Advanced medical qualifications including MBBS or equivalent medical degree plus specialty qualifications, board certifications, and postgraduate training are required. Additional qualifications in healthcare management, leadership, or quality are valuable.
