Job Overview: The Cashier / Packaging Staff at Home Bakery is a vital part of our customer service team, ensuring every guest enjoys a smooth, warm, and memorable experience. You’ll be the friendly face that welcomes customers, processes their orders with care, and ensures that each item leaving our store is beautifully packaged and presented with the attention to detail our brand is known for. Your goal is to make each transaction an enjoyable experience while upholding our standards of accuracy and efficiency.

Role Purpose: As a Cashier / Packaging Staff member, you will serve as the link between our kitchen and our guests. You will handle payments, process transactions through POS systems, and package desserts, beverages, and bakery items neatly for takeaway or delivery orders. Beyond just a job at the counter, your role represents the hospitality and craftsmanship that defines Home Bakery — where every product tells a story, and every guest interaction reflects our values of warmth and sincerity.

Key Responsibilities: You will manage daily cash operations, issue receipts, and ensure proper balancing at the end of each shift. Maintaining a clean, well-organized counter area and packaging station will be essential. You will carefully package cakes, cookies, and bakery items to preserve their freshness and presentation during transit. Your attention to hygiene and product handling must be impeccable, and you will regularly communicate with kitchen and service staff to ensure orders are accurate and delivered promptly.

Customer Engagement: At Home Bakery, every guest deserves personalized attention. You’ll engage with customers, answer product inquiries, and recommend items with enthusiasm and honesty. Whether someone is picking up a birthday cake or grabbing their morning coffee, your cheerful attitude and service quality will help turn an ordinary purchase into a delightful experience. You’ll also assist in managing online or takeaway orders during peak hours, ensuring a seamless flow of operations.

Operational Excellence: As part of your role, you’ll support inventory tracking for packaging materials, assist in daily reporting, and maintain cleanliness according to health and safety standards. You’ll collaborate closely with the Baristas and Wait Staff to ensure the front-of-house runs efficiently, especially during busy hours. Your reliability and consistency will be key to maintaining the brand’s reputation for excellence and professionalism.
