Role Overview – Navigators Shipping and Logistica L.L.C is hiring a Business Development Manager for a full-time, on-site role based in Dubai, UAE. This position is ideal for experienced sales and business development professionals with strong logistics and shipping industry expertise, relationship-building capabilities, and the ability to generate new business, acquire clients, and drive revenue growth within the freight forwarding, shipping, and logistics sector.
Business Development and Sales Strategy – You will develop and execute business development strategies by identifying target markets and industry segments, defining sales objectives, creating account acquisition plans, developing competitive positioning strategies, and implementing comprehensive business development initiatives that drive new client acquisition and revenue growth for Navigators Shipping and Logistica.
Lead Generation and Prospecting – You will drive lead generation and prospecting by identifying potential clients (importers, exporters, manufacturers, retailers, e-commerce companies), researching target companies and industries, conducting cold outreach, networking at industry events, leveraging LinkedIn and digital channels, and building a robust sales pipeline of qualified prospects.
Client Acquisition and New Business Development – You will acquire new clients and develop business by presenting Navigators' logistics solutions, conducting needs assessments, preparing customized proposals, demonstrating value propositions, negotiating rates and terms, closing deals, and converting prospects into active shipping and logistics customers.
Relationship Management and Account Development – You will build and manage client relationships by maintaining regular communication with key accounts, understanding client supply chain needs, providing proactive service, identifying growth opportunities, upselling additional services (warehousing, customs clearance, distribution), and ensuring long-term partnerships that drive repeat business and customer loyalty.
Freight Forwarding and Logistics Solutions Selling – You will sell freight forwarding and logistics solutions by promoting air freight, sea freight (FCL/LCL), land transportation, multimodal transport, customs brokerage, warehousing, distribution, project cargo, and specialized logistics services, matching client requirements with appropriate solutions that optimize cost and efficiency.
Rate Negotiation and Quotation Management – You will negotiate rates and manage quotations by coordinating with operations and pricing teams, obtaining carrier rates, preparing competitive quotations, negotiating pricing with clients, managing rate agreements, and balancing competitiveness with profitability to secure business.
Market Research and Competitive Analysis – You will conduct market research and competitive analysis by monitoring industry trends, analyzing competitor activities and pricing, identifying emerging opportunities, tracking market developments (trade flows, new trade lanes, regulatory changes), and providing insights to inform business strategies and positioning.
Industry Networking and Brand Representation – You will engage in industry networking and represent the Navigators brand by attending shipping and logistics conferences, trade shows, networking events, chamber of commerce activities, building relationships with industry stakeholders, and positioning Navigators as a trusted logistics partner in the Dubai and UAE market.
