Role Overview – Al Rabat Building Contracting is hiring an Accountant for a full-time, on-site role based in Dubai, UAE. This position is ideal for experienced accounting professionals with strong construction sector knowledge, project accounting capabilities, and the ability to manage financial records, process transactions, prepare reports, and ensure accurate financial operations within a construction and contracting business environment.

General Ledger and Financial Accounting – You will manage general ledger and financial accounting by recording and posting financial transactions, maintaining chart of accounts, preparing journal entries, reconciling accounts, managing construction-specific accounting entries, ensuring all financial data is accurate, complete, and compliant with IFRS and UAE accounting standards.

Project Accounting and Cost Management – You will manage project accounting by maintaining project-wise accounts and cost records, tracking project revenues and expenses, managing work-in-progress (WIP) accounting, calculating project profitability and margins, allocating costs to projects accurately, preparing project financial reports, and ensuring accurate project cost accounting.

Accounts Payable and Contractor Payments – You will manage accounts payable by processing supplier and subcontractor invoices, verifying invoices against purchase orders and delivery notes, managing retention accounting, processing payment certificates and valuations, coordinating contractor and supplier payments, reconciling supplier statements, tracking retention releases, and ensuring timely, accurate payment processing.

Accounts Receivable and Client Billing – You will manage accounts receivable by preparing interim payment applications (IPAs) and payment certificates, invoicing clients based on project progress, tracking customer payments and collections, managing retention receivables, following up on outstanding invoices, coordinating with project teams on billing milestones, and ensuring timely revenue collection.
